  • Xtant Medical has launched nanOss Strata, a new synthetic bone graft in its nanOss product line.
  • The graft is made from hydroxycarbonapatite (HCA), which the company says is more soluble than traditional hydroxyapatite (HA).
  • nanOss Strata comes in preformed strips and prehydrated, moldable grafts, and is being sold through Xtant’s distribution network.

Xtant Medical Holdings has commercially launched nanOss Strata, a next-generation synthetic bone graft in the company’s nanOss line.

What is nanOss Strata
nanOss Strata is manufactured from hydroxycarbonapatite (HCA), which Xtant says has higher solubility than traditional hydroxyapatite (HA), a commonly used synthetic bone graft material. According to the company, increased solubility can improve graft bioactivity (how the material interacts with biological tissue), supporting integration and remodeling with surrounding bone during healing.

It’s designed to closely mimic human bone and increase surface area, thereby improving osteoconductivity (the ability of a material to support bone growth along its surface) and stimulating the patient’s cellular activity on the graft’s surface after implantation.

Product formats
nanOss Strata is available in:

  • Compression-resistant preformed strips
  • Prehydrated moldable grafts

Xtant says both options are sterile, moldable, and designed to absorb blood and other biologic fluids quickly.

Sean Browne, President and CEO of Xtant Medical, stated, “By building on the clinical success of our nanOss products, Strata further demonstrates our commitment to innovation in regenerative medicine. We are excited to introduce this new technology to help our surgeon customers improve the surgical outcomes of their patients.”

nanOss Strata is now accessible through its nationwide distribution network.
