Webinar: Inside eXmoor’s Cell & Gene GMP Facility, Designed for Uncertainty

Cell and gene therapy facilities are often designed before the processes they will eventually support are fully known. Modalities change, scales shift, technologies evolve, and capacity requirements can look very different by the time a facility becomes operational.

In this webinar, eXmoor Pharma will use its 65,000 sq ft Cell and Gene Therapy Centre (CGTC) in Bristol, UK as a real-world case study in designing a multipurpose GMP facility around that uncertainty.

John Joseph and Andrew Besso will examine key challenges encountered during the project and the engineering decisions used to address them, including:

• Sizing capacity when future demand and process mix are uncertain
• Designing GMP flows around contamination and cross-contamination risk
• Building flexibility into cleanrooms, utilities and services
• Planning for equipment movement, maintenance and future replacement
• Accounting for QC, warehousing, waste, cryostorage and other support functions
• Preparing the facility for future expansion and operational readiness

Rather than treating flexibility as spare space, the session will show how to engineer it through process modeling, risk-based design, maintainable infrastructure, and realistic operating scenarios.

Attendees will leave with a practical framework for evaluating and designing multipurpose CGT manufacturing facilities.
